Gold Rutilated Quartz

Rutilated quartz, often called "golden hair crystal" for its distinctive look, is mined in several global regions, with Brazil, Madagascar, and the United States being key sources. Brazilian stones are prized for their dense, golden rutile inclusions that twist through the clear quartz, forming bold, eye-catching patterns. Madagascan varieties tend to have finer, more delicate rutile threads, while some U.S. deposits yield crystals with unique coppery-golden fibers.

In structure, it’s a type of clear quartz containing rutile—thin titanium dioxide fibers—that develop as the crystal forms. These inclusions range from fine, hair-like strands to thicker bundles, or even starburst shapes, in shades from pale gold to deep bronze, earning it the "golden hair" name. The base quartz is usually transparent or slightly milky, letting the rutile stand out vividly.

In metaphysical traditions, golden hair crystal is linked to amplified energy and mental clarity. It’s thought to sharpen focus, clear negative energies, and boost drive, making it a favorite in spiritual practices. Some also associate it with emotional balance and a stronger sense of purpose.
